Solenoid Assembly

Solenoid assembly components:
  • Solenoid coils
  • Solenoid cores
  • Solenoid mounts
  • Retention spring
  • Captive washer
  • M4 hexagonal standoffs
  • M4 screws
  • Kicker

The main purpose of this part of the robot is to deliver an impact force allowing the robot to kick and chip. This version is based on last year's version. It has been optimized, by choosing the right starting position of the solenoid core, giving more impact power. More details about this can be found in ETDP section 2.2. Stronger mounts, make the design more resilient. Everything has been made simpler to put together.
Solenoid mounts have been designed to be 3D printed out of PETG at 4 parameters and 0.2 mm layer height with 25% hexagonal infill. They were designed so that no supports are needed while printing - only the sacrificial layer needed to be removed.
